Grim Fronteira - Cards

At UDS Studios, we don’t do fairy tales. We don’t do noble knights, and we sure as hell don’t jam with lucky rolls.

We cut the dice because they’re a lump of plastic that kills the night as fast as a bullet to the gut. We don't want any of those worthless items in our products: we love the environment and we hate putting workers in exotic lands in danger.

We believe in the craft. That means no AI, no LLMs, and none of those other digital rascality. We’re adults in our doings, we're kids in our creative minds.

Our mission is to give you books, RPGs, and premium card decks for a rewarding yet mean experience that stays with you long after the sun goes down over the shipyard.

writing like real people

We don't appreciate collectible cards and we aim to bring to market only French-suited decks inspired by our games, so you can use them to play poker with your friends or to feel the right experience when playing our games. Make sure to cheat when it doesn't matter, we believe in you.

We're working on our second world, follow us on Substack to see it come to life.

Authors and creators

Meet the creative minds behind our stories. We tried to bring in more female writers, but they want nothing to do with us. We'll try again.

Professor Yuri Bernardini is the one to blame for ideating the card mechanics.

Yuri designs our games and writes all the rules, while also coming up with a short story or two for the final version of Grim Fronteira.

If you want to fight him, you'll find him in a pub in London, playing the banjo.

Mario Crea writes and translates most content for Grim Fronteira, including the Substack.

He will complete his Bukowski-inspired collection of short stories once our first Kickstarter campaign will hit the goal.

If you want to fight him, you have to first slash your way through thick crowds of Japanese commuters.

This one can be you. Do you have a semi-ready book that can be a setup for an RPG?

Contact us at info@udsstudios.com and let us know where to fight you.

Professor Alessandro Veltri is finalizing his physics-accurate Sci-Fi creation, The Trader God.

He will work on the RPG version with Yuri, to bring his world to the tabletop.

If you want to fight him, you can join his students in the Physics Department, where he mixes superhero powers with plasmonic nano lasers.
